M = 6
    This month, the sixth month since the beginning of the
    magickal year at Spring Equinox,was assigned the letter M and the number 6. This month is
    the time of harvests and dying vegetation, it is the last month in which light retains its
    ascendance over darkness. In Northern latitudes the air is tinged with cold and strange
    excitement. The harvest of grapes is pressed into sweet new wine. The God of wine, the
    vine and ecstasy, Dionysus, holds six sacred in his aspect as a Dying God; and it is the
    sixth Sephira of the Tree of Life, Tiphareth, which signifies the mysteries of Death and
    Resurrection. The corresponding Tarot card is Atu XII, The Hanged Man, referring to
    mystical death-rebirth. The Autumnal Equinox marks the ending of this month, when the
    eternal yearly battle between Light and Darkness once more is lost, and Darkness again
    dominates.
